We made it into Home Beautiful — and it's because of you
I wanted to share some lovely news with you, one of my fave pics, Centred In Self, has been featured in Home Beautiful magazine. 🌿
Seeing her sit so gracefully in the pages of one of Australia's most beloved home publications and in such a beautiful, stylish home I wanted to share with you, because you are a part of this story.
I love the energy it brings to this room and one of my favourite things is to see how artworks are hung, where and how decorators and stylists see. This was created by a great team: Jade Pennell and Eucalypt Studio for interior design and styling, photography by Hannah Peuchmarin, styling by Gabrielle Reinhardt, and printing and framing by Forman Art and Framing.
Here’s a little background on this image:
For centuries, women and girls have been taught that if you consider yourself, if you dare to put your own dreams first, you are self-centred. Selfish. Too much.
So putting yourself first can feel unnatural. Uncomfortable. Even wrong.
But what if we simply switched the words around?
Instead of self-centred, you become “Centred in Self.”
My dear friend Sonia Choquette first offered me this reframe, and it changed everything. From that place, centred in self, you bring balance and harmony to your life. Your feet are firmly planted on the earth. You operate from the inside out. You make decisions rooted in what is truly best for you.
It is a calm and knowing place to be. A place that celebrates you and what you truly want.
When you pay attention to the signs, they point you to the right opportunities, the right people, the ones who understand and celebrate you. And slowly, beautifully, all the things you want in life begin to come your way.
Being centred in self gives you a rudder. Access to deep inner knowledge. The confidence and trust to act on it.
This girl, Centred In Self, was created to remind you of exactly that. Considering yourself is not selfish. It is the most beautiful, most spiritual move you can make.
And now, she's sitting in the pages of Home Beautiful. I'd say she found her way to exactly the right place. 💛
