Print Care Instructions

To ensure a long life for your fine art print, please observe the following care instructions:

HANDLING
  • Always wash your hands before handling or wear cotton gloves to prevent smudges and oil transfer.
  • Handle prints by the edges only—never touch the printed surface.
  • Avoid bending, folding, or creasing the paper.
  • Frame your print as soon as possible to protect it from environmental damage.
  • Use UV-protective glass or acrylic to shield it from harmful light.
  • Always use acid-free, archival-quality mat board and backing.
  • Use a spacer or mat to keep the print from touching the glazing.
  • Keep prints out of direct sunlight and away from harsh indoor lighting to prevent fading.
  • Avoid hanging in humid environments like bathrooms or kitchens.
  • Maintain a stable temperature and humidity, ideally around 70°F (21°C) and 50% RH.
  • Store flat in an archival box or portfolio, between acid-free tissue paper.
  • If rolled for storage or transport, use a large-diameter archival tube and roll with tissue or glassine paper.
  • Keep stored prints in a cool, dry, and dark place.
  • Dust frames and glass regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
  • Do not use sprays or cleaners on or near the print surface.
  • If any cleaning of the print itself is needed, consult a professional art conservator—do not attempt DIY cleaning.
  • Exposure to sunlight, fluorescent light, or heat sources.
  • Contact with water, solvents, or cleaning products.
  • Hanging prints in areas with high moisture or airborne contaminants.
