A Perfect Paris Picnic

Carla Coulson paris picnic

If you are coming to Paris this summer you must indulge in one of the Parisians favourite sports, Picnicing..

When there is a hint of sun they really love nothing better than spreading out their blankets, opening a bottle of red and breaking a baguette with friends.

There are many wonderful places to throw out your rug down in Paris but one of my favourites is the hedged area between the Louvre and the Tuileries garden. It’s an awe inspiring view wherever you look, gardens to the left, Louvre to the right and the Eiffel Tower floating about it all.

The Tuileries garden no matter what season area visual delight. Medicine for the eyes and I was thinking of my darling gardener dad when I took this pics (shout out to dad!).

The lawns are like bowling greens in the Tuileries and definately not for spreading out your blanket!

You can grab a chair around the lake if you would prefer??

Or in summer take a ride at the carnival that is smack bang in the middle of the park along the Rue du Rivoli side.

And when the day and the picnic is done you can make your way home via the beautiful Louvre..

Always a treat for the senses.

Such divine pics Carla!
We went to Luco at dusk…the light was like this – fabulous but the pictures can’t compare.

Hi Carla,

Thanks for the Paris “eye candy”… what a treat. It brings back sweet memories… I used to run in the Tuileries gardens every morning when I was there for work. It was so magical.

BTW – I added you to my blogroll. I hope that is ok.

regards from New York,

LOVE a picnic in Paris! Once did a picnic on one of the benches at the base of the Eiffel Tower. And now some new places to try! Thanks for this, Carla!

Lovely light – great for a stroll! I’ve noticed there are lots of picnic blankets spread out in parks all over Paris these days. Can’t imagine that happening in a big Italian city!
