CARAVAN – PUGLIA ITALY 10-16TH JUNE 2014
For 12 years I passed my life on trains, planes and automobiles. I have walked thousands of miles in different countries and I have waded through knee-deep mud to get that special photo that would ignite my soul. I have stayed up all night to chase an Easter procession in Sicily, swam underwater in the Mediterranean to shoot another perspective on Italian ladies having a chat and commando crawled between legs to shoot dancers in a crowded Flamenco club in Spain.
I have invested the past 12 years of my life learning how to capture photos with soul, it has taken blood, sweat and tears and I have spent my life savings along the way but I wouldn’t swap one of those train rides or the magic that travel brings for anything.
Join my ‘caravan’ on a road less travelled to the boot of Italy, in the beautiful region of Puglia. A journey to the Valle D’Itria region that will make your heart sing and take your Travel Photography skills to a professional level. Puglia once was the road that linked Rome to other Mediterranean civilizations and has a tradition of rich culture, history, agriculture and a knockout cuisine.
Six incredible days of tuition and travel photographing beautiful Martina Franca, Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica, Grottaglie and Locorotondo whilst learning the essentials of interiors, portraiture, life photography, landscapes, cityscapes, food and still life.
Learn my methods of taking travel photos with emotion, how to tell your story of a place in a unique way, create your own style so you can stand out from the crowd, how to master natural light and to take authentic portraits in a yet to be discovered part of Italy.
Each day we will spend up to 4 hours on the theory of a particular theme of travel photography and the rest of the day on location capturing images. Each participant will be encouraged to send a small portfolio of images to be critiqued prior to starting the workshop and to create a story or portfolio whilst on location which will be shown on the last evening.
You will have an experience of a lifetime and walk away with confidence in your photography and a beautiful travel portfolio.
