There are some shoots that take my breath away and this shoot by Will Davidson for Vogue Australia is one of them.
I love everything about it, the styling, the location, the light, the models, hair and make-up and his wonderful photography.
And as a Parisian photographer starved of Aussie light right now, these images make my heart sing. Loving this side light on beautiful model Liu Wen.
Makes me want to rush back to Australia and head outback with a big fluffy dog and some suitcases.
I love this backlit image. I often use this technique when the sun is to strong to shoot on her directly so I turn the subjects back to the sun (he has her the other way) and let her create her own shade..
And this image is breaking my cabaret/circus loving photographer’s heart. Clever photographer managed one more pic with so much emotion when the light was really going. And what a beautiful way to capture it with Liu Wen looking at those lights. Bravo Will!!
Seeing work like this reminds me so much of why I love being a photographer and how doing something you love is the greatest reward we can have.
Thanks for the beauty Will.
“I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘No’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.” Steve Jobs
