Portrait Inspiration – The Three Graces

How do you know that your nieces are three angels?

Well, when they leave the beach on a sweltering day to play models for their mad photographer Aunty and end up tucked in bed bathed in white.

My gorgeous nieces and nephews have been tortured from the minute I started taking pics and whether they were in floaties (water wings for the rest of the world) or running around the backyard I was there behind stalking.

There have been times when I have asked too much like on our Amalfi Coast holiday when I asked them to walk into the sea fully clothed for some underwater shots.. Now that got the Italians off their sunbeds in a hurry.

They are such a JOY to photograph.. If only they were only down the road all the time how much fun I would have.

Being pro’s and having had the camera on them from the get go, these gorgeous gals know all  the nuances of photography and so I thought we would walk you through some subtle differences. In the above pic, although it is slight they are doing ‘a smile in your eyes’ (us photographers often ask our subjects to do this without breaking into a big smile) which is friendlier than the straight faces I asked them to pull in the top shot (although I love the top shot).

And because they are three beautiful girls who would inspire any Botticelli or Canova they are just as beautiful smiling as pulling a straight face.

Merci, grazie, thank-you for being my nieces…

Love you lots

Oh Carla, your nieces are so naturally beautiful, love how they ‘smize’ :))
My girlies are already seasoned models, I too ask them to do random poses, when I see an opportunity. Not fully clothed on a beach yet, but who knows:)
    Have a lovely day,
    Axx
