Portrait Inspiration – Retro Chic

I love a little retro glam!!! Putting a fashion inspired portrait shoot together can be so much fun and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

Start digging in your mum’s or groovy aunty’s wardrobe and you will probably find a gold mine of grooviness..

So many of the great stylised looks we find in fashion magazines have been inspired by the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s so breakout the jumpsuits and crocheted dress and start shooting.

I love the locations that photographer Mark Kean has chosen for this shoot, could be anywhere in Australia, maybe even your aunty’s house?

Just add hair and make-up and stir.

Fashion is fun!

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening”. Coco Chanel

Love it Carla!!!! My favourite era the 60’s! Still loving the hair, eyeliner, pale lips and last but not least, the fashion! x Always collected it and wearing it still! x

  5. As part of an assignment I’ll be doing two sets of portrait shoots. I’m so nervous, yet excited. I am pooling a bunch of images that inspire me. I love this stage – so many possibilities. Next step, look at op-shops for clothing ideas.
I am very lucky that one of my models has a bit of Sienna Miller and Charlize Theron in her so that is who we will probably channel.
