Zero To Hero – Manual Photography + Portrait Workshop

Dear Friends,
Do you have a fashion label, are you  the boyfriend or girlfriend of a fashion blogger or a personal brand, a mum who dreams of taking great photos of her family but are stuck on automatic??
Are you a photography novice who has dreamed of smashing through the barrier of manual photography going straight from Zero to Hero – confidently understanding composition, light, movement and working with people to create beautiful portraits and fashion street photography?
If I have been asked once I have been asked a hundred times, to create a workshop for beginners who have never used their camera on manual previously and in an accelerated time could confidently take cool portraits of their fashion brand, blogger friend and family.
The idea is to inspire you, help you fall in love with photography and fast forward the process of photography giving you the basics to get you started with a lot of practice in a short period of time with concentrated attention from experienced teachers. You will be working one of one with portrait subjects, learning how to guide, pose and work with your loved ones to create professional level pics.
This photography workshop is a full immersion in photography, it will be hands on, with time in the classroom and plenty of time out on the streets and on location taking photos.

Day 1 – The basics of manual photography, exposure, using light, shutter speed, depth of field and getting to know your camera.  We  will be putting this into practice day 1. Half day in the classroom and half day on location
Day 2 – Critiquing, photographic style and vision and working with a subject and movement – half day in classroom and half day out on location taking photos
Day 3 – Full day on location – shooting in interiors and exterior light situations with different portrait subjects. Creating different light looks, working with your subject one and one to create a vision or inspired photographic look.
Day 4 – Critiquing and Lightroom post processing – Afternoon back out on location working with your subject refining what we have learnt and pushing your creativity

All TUITION: 4 days of tuition based in Sydney and moving around dependent on the day and exercises.

Working one and one with portrait subjects over a two day period
All transfers during the workshop
4 lunches and morning and afternoon tea
A ratio of no more than 1 to 4 with the teachers.

This is a ‘bootcamp’ type workshop where we assist you in moving fast. It isn’t the entire history of photography in 4 days but our aim is to inspire you, get you using your camera confidently and working with people so that you walk away with a new skill set and have broken through the manual photography barrier. We hope you will leave curious and with a fire ignited for photography and portraiture and the skills to put them into practice straight away.
