Notre Dame

The snow just keeps coming in Paris. Though it is cold it is difficult to stay indoors, Paris in the snow is irresistible. Yesterday morning when I woke the rooftops were white. I searched for a pair of shoes with a decent tread and skated on over to Notre Dame.

Pont Marie was a bed of snow and all the Quai’s were strips of white. The photographers were out in force snapping Paris from every angle.

This pic is taken on the right bank behind Notre Dame on my Leica M8..

Stay warm

Not many times one can see Notre Dame covered in snow.
I have seen it the Christmas period about 25 years ago.
    It was like a dream.
    Merry Christmas to you Carla.

It's been so long since I've seen snow that it's hard to imagine… really beautiful photo. It must be…… I really can't think of the right words…. um, dreamy. :)

OK, even this suburbanite who hates dealing with snow admits that this is beautiful. I would love to be there. I bet you had a fun day!

I have that exact photo Carla only with pouing rain. And I shouldn't say exact because obviously it is not the same at all! It certainly makes the city look Christmassy doesn't it. Happy Holidays to VHH (very handsome husband) and you Carla-may your first married Christmas be magical. XO

I saw in the news that many airports are closed in Europe cause of the snow. We have now 70 centimeters snow which is record for December since 1915.
Enjoy your the magical moment there and have a nice and relaxing Christmas:)

C'est magique and how nice of her to wear a red coat just for your delight Carla. Stay warm and save some snow for my visit. There is nothing a lovely as Paris dusted in snow.

  14. à la parisienne says:

Of the handful of times I've visited Paris, I have actually had the priviledge to enjoy the city capped in snow (November 2005). Paris was so magical and the experience even more enjoyable since it rarely snows here in southern Texas. Enjoy every snowflake!

    Joyeux Noël!

Warm wishes & continued blessings for this coming new year 2011.

Enjoy the beauty of your blog all year, sheer magic.

Your photo "Paris in Snow" reminds me of icing on a beautiful & delicious cake.

I think now they will have to revive Cole Porter's song "I love Paris" to include I love Paris in the spring time
I love Paris in the fall
I love Paris in the winter, when it drizzles,
to add…."I love Paris in when "the snow starts to fall…."

    Joyeux Noel

I am dating myself but I preferred Notre Dame when it was black with soot, imagine the contrast to snow, still, you can do no wrong and I love the photo as you love Paris, which shows.

really wonderfull photos. funnily, I was in Paris less than a week ago – no snow, no pretty snowy pictures. and the day we left it started to snow, our train to South was two hours late because of it! but exactly the four days we were there no snow in view… fortunately I can admire it in tour photos.
