Happy 2013 and A Couple of New Year’s Resolutions

Emilio Pucci Florence

Glorious Ones,

Well the poles didn’t invert as predicted but it is exciting to know that we are heading slowly towards the age of Aquarius, a time of enlightened awareness and boy is it long overdue.

I must admit I held my breath on the 21st December with one ear out for any earth rumblings of poles moving in the opposite direction. Those Mayans were so advanced but as my hippy hubby tells me the Mayans predicted a new beginning in the spiritual sense.

Out with wars, destroying the planet, food full of pesticides and polluted water and in with a new conscience of better ways to live and treat the world.

Bring on the hippies the second time around (I will be there with my palazzo pants on and flowers in my hair- see above).

I have had two whole weeks of fabulous downtime. Amazing how much energy a little holiday and putting one’s feet up can give you.

I am full of ideas and projects for 2013 and can’t wait to meet all the gorgeous gals at my Picture This Workshop in exactly 6 days. WOOHOOOO…

Has anyone made any New Years’s Resolutions??

Here are some of mine:

1. More Beauty

Because you can never have too much beauty and if you look hard you will see it everywhere.

2. More Water

Because water takes us back to the beginning! When I dip my toe in the water I become who I really am, when I am fully immersed I am free and calm, time no longer matters.

3. More Downtime

Because to be creative you need to fill the well and downtime is one of the greatest remedies.. Bring on the downtime..

4. Love

Because sharing is fun!

5. A Vegetable Garden

Could there be a greater luxury than picking your own vegetables straight out of the garden? For me this is worth a thousand pairs of Manolo Blahniks and more!

Oh and……

6. A Place to Call My (Our) Own

Because even the gypset (not jetset) need somewhere to hang up their caftans every now and then.

Wishing you the most fabulous 2013 full of love, light, happiness and wonderful projects.

PS: I will be back blogging in full swing from the 7th January. Can’t wait to catch up. Carla xx

  4. All of the above for me too …
Lots of travel – 2013 I will finally see Italy – Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, Venice and ooh la la back to Paris !
A lot of this is due to the wonderful images I see daily on my Facebook account and blog reader – you and so many others inspire me to do more, be more, and follow dreams. Love the hippie concept – beautiful long flowering multi coloured garments … mmmm perfect for this summer heatwave too.
    Happy New Year Carla x

I am one of those lucky gals on the Picture This Workshop and after months of waiting it is almost here. I drive up from Melb in less than 2 days. Wow.
I share your 2013 sentiments Carla, and feel so excited about the year ahead; a real blossoming of creative ideas and I can’t wait to fulfil those ‘camera-to-eye’ projects that have me rather sleepless at times. Blessings to all – see you in a few more sleeps. Dakota @ Divinely You Photography

  8. Oh goodie! I get to be a hippie one more time (it was fun back in the late 60’s and early 70’s)). Mind you they say you shouldn’t do a trend twice but who’s to know if I wear flowers in my hair one more time? Happy to hear you had a wonderful vacation Carla. Peace & Love xx

Happy New Year! My resolution this year is to be less of a night owl (and it’s 4:10am as I type this, so you can see I have some work to do). And, as every year, focus on quality of life so I don’t work myself to death.

Hope you have a wonderful 2013!
