I hope you all survived Christmas. We escaped Paris in the snow and arrived in Puglia to 18 degrees. A shock to our icy systems! This is a snap of Giovinazzo a beautiful port village near Francesco’s family home. Hope you enjoy the colours.
Have a great New Year.

Lovely! Sweet image. Much more after all this cold weather. Enjoy Carla.

A beautiful place to escape to. Splendid colors — if it weren't for the large motor boat, it would appear it was a lovely antique oil painting.
Wishing you and Francesco A Happy New Year, May every moment that follows be filled with much joy and a reason to celebrate.
cheers,
joanny

I am a new subscriber to your blog. This was the first one I received in my box.
That photo is unbelievably gorgeous! I hope you manage to stay warm! The weather here is a mess and everyone's plans have been affected as planes and even cars are delayed.
Wishing you all things happy and bright for 2011!

Wonderful picture! A Happy New Year for you too!
It looks beautiful. What a lovely change. I know how you feel. The sun has just poked its head out today on the Gold Coast after torrential rain and flooding. So off to the beach we go. Enjoy!
Well I opened your post and went Ohhhh! Love this shot, colors are so intense and it instantly evokes so many emotions. Love the square format and the way the boats lead the eye but mostly love the emotion!
It has a real Polaroid feel to it, love it!
ciao Lisa
The colours are stunning Carla…Wish you all the best for the New Year

Absolutely beautiful! – really brings back wonderful memories of Italy – will be back in 2011!
Carla – is this an image straight from the camera, or do you do some post processing?
Kind regards from a hot and rainy South Africa.
Best wishes for 2011!

Carla, I just finished Italian Joy and, wow, thank you so much for sharing your journey! I told myself I would finish it before the end of the year, and I'm so glad I did. I know a ton of people have already said this, but your words echo exactly how I feel. Thank you for writing about the ups and downs of your truly inspirational life.

Happy New Year, Carla!
Last night I was browsing your blog and a number of your posts with images from Paris. I've visited Paris once before, in the late 90's. Seeing your lovely photos gave me an inexplicable urge to go there again. While out having dinner with a friend today, I suggested to her we go to Paris in spring. She agreed. Now the ticket is booked for the first weekend of March!
Thanks for the inspiration!
Carla:
I came back to take another look at this photo, it is so intriguing — the delicate warm tones of the quality of color and composition give the image a gorgeous historical or 'old world' quality. It has a rich organic quality to it which is usually impossible to produce with modern techniques. My favorite themes always involve water, and boats… did you have more using this style of lighting?
May you continue to have creativity flow through you and to you every moment of this new year.
warm wishes
joanny
Interesting photos Carla. I enjoyed looking them through.
Best,
