Carla Coulson by Julie Adams at An Affair With Italy

So honoured and thrilled to be interviewed today on An Affair With Italy about my journey to photography and Italy. It’s been a long road and having a chat with Emma brought up things I had long forgotten about.

This is one of the most heartfelt interviews I remember having in all these years, thanks to the brilliance of writer Emma Scott.

And what a treat to be photographed by the talented Julie Adams, with whom I share so many similarities, photographer school in Florence and a deep and profound love of Naples.

You can read the full interview here.

Deep love, respect and thanks to the girls..

Beautiful. The article filled in a few pieces for me of your journey.
    BRAVA!
I completely understand how Italy got under your skin as I had the same feelings when we had to move there . I being the AMERICAN did not want to leave when it was time to go back to the STATES.
I would drop everything NOW and go back if possible!
I hope one day you GO BACK there……………..I feel its calling to you!

Carla, the interview is fantastic. That inspiration of facing your life & not accepting it was such a powerful motivator ..You were honest enough to write that in Italian Joy …my favourite book of all times…you have such an honest magic…
Maybe we could see that movie soon…???
the footy in Aus ..the argument..the catalyst of the Thai takeaway & then to Italy…
It’s a journey & you have shared so much, thank you ! Barb

I have just read the interview Carla , we are so proud of you ( and all of our family). It was hard for all moving but I think it has made us stronger and more caring about others. I hated the moving also but that was what is was like to work in a bank in those days , you went were you were told not what you wanted to do or not do. Maybe this is why there are a lot of selfish people around these days as they think the world revolves around them not them to fit into the world.
